What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a part of the health-care profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves, especially related to the spine.
Chiropractic treatment mainly involves safe, often gentle, specific spinal manipulation to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. Apart from manipulation, Liverpool chiropractors may use a variety of different chiropractic techniques including ice, heat, ultrasound, exercise and acupuncture as well as advice about posture and lifestyle.
Although Liverpool chiropractors are best known for treating low back and neck pain, which they do very well, patients also consult our chiropractors regarding a range of other, related conditions, for example, headaches and migraines.
What to expect on your first appointment with the Chiropractor?
On your first Liverpool chiropractor appointment you will be required to fill in a medical history form, this gives our chiropractors relevant information that can determine what treatment methods can be used. If you cannot complete this a member of the team will help you. Following this a complete case history and physical examination will take place. You will be offered a gown if you are required to remove any items of clothing.
A report of findings outlining your diagnosis and different treatment options will take place. Once you agree what treatment you would like and will be the most beneficial our chiropractor will begin treatment following the treatment plan that you have just discussed. Any questions you have you will be able to ask throughout the consultation.
Treatment for Babies and Children
Patients under 14 must be accompanied by their parents or guardian at all times. Consent of the parents or legal guardians must be received before examination or treatment can start.
